Sarah joined Staple Inn Chambers in 2008 and practises solely in family law. She is frequently instructed in the full range of Children Act cases, including s31, s8 and SGO matters. She is further instructed in respect of abduction matters, cohabitee disputes and financial remedy work.

Sarah is instructed in all aspects of public law work, regularly acting on behalf of parents in matters of high complexity. Her case load comprises instructions relating to issues of emotional, sexual, psychological and physical abuse, including NAI, and often also includes consideration of significant learning difficulties faced on the part of her clients and/or the children involved. She is frequently instructed on behalf of parents/intervenors or the Children’s Guardian but accepts instructions from all parties to a case.

Sarah has an established practice in areas of financial remedy, and is instructed at all stages of proceedings.

Sarah’s experience as assistant to the Head of the Family Department at a specialist family law firm prior to commencing her training at the Bar developed her skills as an efficient and thorough practitioner, which she combines with a friendly and approachable style. She is passionate about achieving the best outcome for her clients and is methodical and practical in her approach. She is acutely aware of the challenges that clients and their children face whilst in proceedings and spent 3 years sitting on the Executive Committee for the Association of Lawyers for Children.
