Sarah joined Staple Inn Chambers in 2008 and practices in family law. She is regularly instructed in the full range of matters under the Family Law Act 1996, Children Act 1989 including section 8 applications, SGO matters, abduction and issues of leave to remove both permanently and temporarily (in which she has a keen interest). Sarah is instructed in all aspects of public law work, regularly acting on behalf of parents in matters of high complexity. Her instructions include matters with issues of emotional, physical, sexual and psychological abuse as well as significant learning difficulties often faced on the part of her clients and/or the children involved. She has an established practice in areas of financial remedy, including under TLATA and is instructed at all stages of proceedings. Sarah’s experience as assistant to the Head of the Family Department at a specialist family law firm prior to commencing her training at the Bar developed her skills as an efficient and thorough practitioner, which she combines with a friendly and approachable style. She also accepts instruction through the Bar Pro Bono Unit. Sarah accepts instructions direct from members of the public in all non legally-aided Family Law matters. Sarah sits on the Executive Committee for the Association of Lawyers for Children.
